HISTORY

Pollentia todays Pollenca was a Roman settlement. Remains and ruins are still to be found several kilometres away at the modern municipality of Alcudia.

Majority of urbanisation was built in the 17th and 18th century. The main square Placa Major is the beating point of town. You can enjoy in one of numerous cafes on the Placa Major. Placa Major is dominated by a large 13th century church Our Lady of the Angels.

The most famous feature of the town are steps. 365 – step stairway is located north of the square and they lead to a chapel on th etop of the hill. The town also has a 19th century bridge of Roman design.
